Vote to Re-Elect Rachel Lang
on November 3!

A Councilmember you can trust.

One who listens and works tirelessly for YOU.

Four years of coalition-building, community-focused leadership, and proven results.
together, we can build a more inclusive, resilient, and thriving community.

My Top Priorities

Ojai is extraordinary, but what makes this valley truly special is the spirit of the people who call it home. We are creative, independent, compassionate, and deeply invested in our shared future.

I approach my work on the City Council by listening closely and turning our community’s values into practical action. You don’t need a councilmember who talks at you with strong opinions about how things should be. District 2 needs an advocate who can listen and respond. One with a strong vision for the future of Ojai, but that vision is created from your comments, desires, and needs.

I’ve proven I listen and take care of business.

  • You asked for lighted crosswalks on Ojai Avenue. I heard about staff’s bureaucratic limbo with Caltrans, and I drew upon my relationship with Caltrans to expedite the process.

  • You had concerns about speeding vehicles and street safety; I championed a Speed Hump Policy and supported efforts to reduce speeds citywide.

  • You had concerns about neighbors or Public Works projects; I didn’t rest until we had answers and code enforcement in place.

  • You told me you didn’t know what was happening in City Hall; I advocated for a comprehensive Communications Policy and formed an Ad Hoc Committee to get to work. Now, we have the Ojai Outlook and a consistent social media strategy.

  • Unhoused residents had nowhere to go. You told me about your concerns for safety in our parks. Today, we have contracts with VC Behavioral Health Services to address mental health crises, and we have a plan in place to house the residents who have no other options.

  • You asked for street paving; we are on schedule to pave all of Ojai by 2029.

  • You asked for more Trolley services; we are heading into 2027 with two routes, Sunday services, and an EV trolley on the way!

If you look through this site, you’ll see more, and I invite you to click the links and read the policies.

From protecting our environment and preparing for climate challenges to supporting local businesses, I believe government works best when it’s transparent and rooted in service. I believe every resident has a voice, and I love hearing your perspectives.

It is an honor to serve Ojai—and I remain committed to helping our remarkable town move forward with care and a dedication to protecting our unique character for future generations.
