Leadership • Service • Compassion

My work has always been at the intersection of service, leadership, and compassionate listening. I’m a successful business owner who has an established 17-year-old practice working as a consultant, teacher, and writer, contributing to some of the most recognizable media outlets in the world. I’m successful, driven, and accomplished, proving that compassion and material success aren’t mutually exclusive.

I’m running because I love Ojai. Love it. I can’t emphasize this enough. Before we moved here, our Ojai friends said Ojai has a strange way of selecting people. If you belong, you will move faster than you expect. That was our story.

I love Ojai because of the people here, and it is in this spirit that I seek to serve. I intend to do my part to protect and preserve the soul of Ojai for future generations. I also want to bring members of our wonderful community together in new ways.

Community Service is a Family Legacy

My grandfather Ferd B. Lang was the first mayor of a small town south of St. Louis, where I spent much of my childhood. Our town was near the lead mines, and the grit and determination of our friends and neighbors showed their dedication to improving life for the next generation.

Neither my grandfather nor my grandmother, Alice Lang, asked for recognition or credit for their acts of service in the community - they gave in a true spirit of generosity.

I have always been inspired by our grandparents’ dedication to their community. I recall volunteering with them at fundraisers for the St. Vincent De Paul Society, the town’s annual parade, and more.

Still today, I look up to them as genuine leaders whose kindness and generosity touched many lives. It is an honor to follow in their footsteps and serve Ojai and District 2.

Donate. Volunteer.

You make all the difference.
