Street Maintenance

We have some good news, District 2!! We’re back on track with some street maintenance postponed during Covid, including paving streets in our district. The graphic below shows the next streets scheduled to be paved, including White Oak, Pleasant, and Grand.

Our City Manager, James Vega, has been taking an aggressive approach to our city maintenance. At a future meeting, we will vote on a 5-year plan to improve the roads that need the most repair in Ojai.

I’ve heard from many on Sunset about your concerns for the safety of bike riders and walkers on your streets. After walking those streets, I understand your concerns and see the safety hazards of the potholes and broken chunks of pavement. I’ve also been aware of the trucks driving up Gridley and taxing the streets. If you live on Drown, we have ongoing conversations about your road. I will advocate for you all!

Are there any other streets that need maintenance? Let me know!

We have secured funding from the TOT- our “bed tax,” which means the income we earn from tourism will pay for the repairs.

Here is the updated map with the scheduled repairs. I’ll keep you updated as we learn more.
